Social Media Tips: Using New Media to Publicize the Launch of Your Product

1. Social Media Experiment: Create an ongoing event and only promote it via Facebook/Twitter/social networks. In-person networking groups and bars are combining to develop what is affectionately called a TweetCrawl, half happy hour and half networking, where people are brought together in local restaurants across their state. Live tweet rolls are shown on large screens where compatible contacts can see who is doing what and know who to tweet back to for a business connection.
2. Along with helping to get the word out about a new product or service, bring together clients as joint marketers. Each business can publicize the new launch to their contact list in this joint social media marketing effort. This technique is helping organizations build their fan base via very targeted efforts.
3. First and foremost is getting the approval from the higher echelons in n organizations to approve the use of social media sites to publicize a launch. Not everyone is a good fit in the current climate. If an organization does not have the muscle behind the curtain to sustain this type of outreach, or if they just don’t “get it”, then it will fail.
4. Companies are using sites such as Twitter, Friendfeed, StumbleUpon, and Travelblog
Exchange — almost exclusively to market their blogs. Most prefer this to traditional marketing because it allows the development of relationships on a number of levels. They focus on building reputation, helping people, answering questions and things grow organically from there.
5. Many times, you will have access to “big names” in your industry in a way I never would through cold calling, mailing or e-mailing simply by using social networking sites. You will also find numerous business and personal relationships — the line often blurs when dealing with social media– that lead to project development and more marketing and PR.
6. A current project: Are you attending a conference, convention or event? Develop a blog centered around your involvement, create ongoing podcasts and audio coverage from the event, and turn your followers on Twitter, Facebook, and other sites in field reporters to syndicate your coverage. All of the contacts can retweet messages, repost blog content, and send traffic to your main blog site. This is a great way to build a massive niche opt-in list quickly.
Try any of these tactics out and you will soon find yourself with a winning product launch.

Product Creation: Four Quick Ideas To Develop Easy Products To Promote On Your Website That Will Sell Like CRAZY!
August 28, 2009 by DrDaveHale

By far one of the principal questions that people who are just starting their Internet businesses ask me is: ” What products and services should I sell on my website?!”
And while getting hot-selling products to sell on your site may seem nerve-racking…
… that is only because most “newbies” believe they need to create their OWN products from scratch.
This is a mistake!
By all means, you could produce your own products, but when you are starting out - and you are eager to start making serious profits, as quickly as possible - developing your own product is not your best option.
First, the development cycle in creating a product is often LONG and COMPLICATE if this is not one of your strong suits.
So, instead of starting to generate income on your site within days or weeks, it can actually take you months - sometimes even YEARS - before you begin to earn a single PENNY!
Second, there are a LOT of additional costs involved in creating your own product.
Not only will you have to deal with the expense of manufacturing the product, you will also face the additional costs of fulfillment, delivery, storage, and even customs and duty if you sell by mail internationally.
And finally, when you develop your own product, there can be complex legal issues to resolve, including liability, health and safety, patents, even environmental issues.
Talk about complicated!
For all of these reasons, I actually DO NOT recommend selling your own physical product as the way to get started (unless you have ALREADY developed the product you want to sell).
Fortunately, there are PLENTY of existing products you can start selling right away on your website that are easy to find, quick to set up, and do NOT require a significant upfront investment - if any at all!
Here are FOUR ideas for HOT products you can begin selling from your website RIGHT AWAY (plus one BIG “shortcut” you can use to find the BEST products as quickly as possible).
Hot Product Idea #1: Earn Money Simply By Recommending Someone Else’s Products
Recommending other people’s products as an affiliate is a GREAT way to get started online.
As an affiliate, you enter into a no-risk partnership that allows you to promote another company’s product or service on your website. For every buying customer you send to the company’s site, you get paid a percentage of the profits!
There are a number of good reasons why an affiliate program is one of the BEST ways for someone new to get online and earning profits.
With no product to develop, it is easy. In fact, it is probably the EASIEST way of all to start making an income. And not only is it easy, it’s also FAST! Once you’ve done your research, it only takes seconds to get set up as an affiliate.
Better still, because the marketing material is provided FOR you, you don’t need to spend a lot of time with marketing…
… and you also don’t need to worry about customer service, or even taking payments!
Here are some great places to start looking for programs to join:
Hot Product Idea #2: Sell And Ship Products While Someone ELSE Does All The Work
If you want to sell products without the hassles of tracking inventory, storing products, or worrying about shipping, then drop shipping may be the best option for you.
When you work with a drop shipper, you sell their products on your website as if they were your own. But when a customer places an order, you collect their payment, then simply forward the customer’s details to the drop shipper.
They take care of packing and shipping the item FOR you…
… and then charge you the WHOLESALE price for the item, so your profit is the difference between what you pay the drop shipping, and what you charge the customer!
Because there’s no product to develop or stock to buy, it is affordable for anyone just starting out. At the same time, it’s relatively easy and fast to get started, because there’s no setup necessary.
Finally, drop shipping gives you the ability to sell products on your site that you otherwise wouldn’t be able to stock yourself.

Hot Product Idea #3: Make BIG Profits By Securing The Rights To Sell Other People’s Products
Another great way to get a profitable website up in record time - without developing your own product - is to buy the “reprint” rights to someone else’s product.
When you purchase the rights to someone else’s product - like software or an eBook - you have permission to sell the product to anyone you want, and keep 100% of the profits!
Purchasing reprint rights is an easy way to get online, because you don’t need a sophisticated website to get started. A simple page with targeted sales copy is all you need to start earning profits.
As well, there is very little up-front cost involved, you’ll have low inventory costs, and mark-up is relatively high!
The best way to look for products with reprint rights is to start with a simple web search. Just type the phrase “resell rights” + your area of interest.
Hot Product Idea #4: Take Advantage Of The MOST Profitable Thing You Can Sell Online!
People do not generally come to the Internet looking to buy something. Typically they come looking for information to help them solve a problem.
So selling an information product - like an eBook or report — is one of the BEST product ideas for people just getting started!
When you produce your own information product, your overhead is minimal. There are virtually no development costs if you write it yourself, and there are no costs to deliver it…
… so you get to keep nearly 100% of the proceeds from each sale!
And best of all, you can completely automate the sale of each eBook, so you can make money 24/7, even when you are on vacation (or focusing on making MORE money with other parts of your site!)

Internet Marketing: Outsourcing Your Way to Product Creation

Are you an Information marketer? Do you develop your own products? Are unsure of whether your writing standards are to the level that people would by what you wrote?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, the following information is for you.
As long as you have a generally written information product, the Internet is now your best friend. With freelancer web site like Guru, eLance, and Scriptlance you can easily find a person in the world to help you out.
These sites a free to anyone who wants to post a project. Once you have signed up for your free membership, simply post your writing project, whether it is for eBook editing, manuscript layout or designing covers and other desktop publishing items.
It is best to be as descriptive as possible with what you want done. If you have an information product write into your project description the word count, page length, what type of editing you are looking for, layout work, and any other writing specific you can think of.
The easiest thing to do is first view several other posted projects like yours and see what specific are mentioned. Ensure you specify that the provider is fluent in English or whatever language the product is written in. You will know why when you see some of the places providers live. It is not unusual to have people respond who live in India, Pakistan, Germany, Philippines, Canada, Mexico or any other country for that matter.
You will also want to decide on what your budget is for your project. A word to the wise, always err on the low side. What Americans may think of as a low price, may in fact be twice as much as a provider in India is willing to complete the project for.
Depending on how soon you want your project completed, give your listing at least 2-3 days. you will be amazed at how may proposals you receive very quickly. Once you are ready to cut off the project listing, narrow down your provider choices to 3 or 4. This may not be necessarily by price. You will be able to review provider portfolios and see the quality of their work.
Email the providers and ensure they fully understand the specific of the project and that their price is solid. Also, ask what type of software they use, their proficiency and experience with projects like yours and any other questions you may have. Not only with this allow you to further narrow your choices, but it will also enable you to see how quickly the providers respond to your email. They may be very quick to submit a proposal, but slow at returning your request for further information.
In the long run, do not feel you have to complete every step of the product creation cycle by yourself. For a small price, there are plenty of starving writers and web designers to assist you. Once your products start selling you will recoup the expenditure very quickly and soon be addicted to the use of outsourcing.
