Ping-O-Matic is a very good service to notify the blog roles that you have updated your blog. This is a product of WordPress product that allows bloggers and web site owners to send

Social Network Traffic Tactics

Social Network Traffic Tactics

messages to social bookmarking services, such as Facebook, Technorati, Digg, and 25 others when a page is published or updated. The sending of the message to bookmarking sites is referred to as a “Ping.”

Another good service to use also is OnlyWire.com. This is a free social bookmarking service and does the same as Ping-O-Matic with 27 social bookmarking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Digg (the best) and many others. The difference here is that OnlyWire.com posts to your own pages which you have developed on each of the bookmarking sites.

With that in mind, you will first have to make accounts with each of the bookmarking services identified on the OnlyWire.com page, then go into your account and enter your login/password info. All you have to do after that is add the URL for the blog posting, hit submit and you are good to go.

Pingoat is another social bookmarking site, which offers English and Non-English social bookmarking sites; 50 in total. Many of these services allow you to download a small icon for your toolbar that you just click on with the web page showing in your browser you wish to book mark.

So, why go to all this bother? As you have read in previous posting here, Link backs to your website or blog are what will make your page rankings skyrocket. The more external links coming into your site means that more people out there in the World Wide Web will see you too.

Internet Marketing: Past, Present, and Future

June 25, 2009 by admin

Momentum builds for Internet marketing as businesses stretch their reach toward an avalanche of web surfers. Just a decade ago, internet-marketing-ebookcoverthe Internet was merely a conversation topic within small tech circles. Today, the Internet hosts businesses from merchandise to service, many which operate solely through their web storefront.

As customers steadily migrate to and accept online shopping within their normal conduct, offline commerce increases as well. Research shows many consumers conduct product research online, make purchase decisions by navigating through online storefronts, then making their actual purchase offline. Companies that have an online store show significant offline sales growth once on the Internet as well.

Why are consumers migrating to online commerce? People are busier, trying to juggle the dynamic demands of career, home and family. Corporations are under intense pressures to improve profits, while employees work harder than ever. Online commerce is convenient, user-controlled and open 24/7 year-round. Consumers aren’t limited by geography, making product and service purchases from merchants anywhere in the world. With this broader reach comes improved selection and pricing - all with one click.

Business opportunity lies, then, in creating the ideal strategy to reach a refined target audience, expanding marketing reach and visibility. In addition to basic business promotion and advertising, Internet Marketing improves and, in some cases, reduces customer service and relationship management cost. To accomplish their goal, businesses and merchants have many more options than ever before - spanning both online and offline channels. Each strategy has its own uses.

Websites can improve a business’s image, add value to customer services, offer a new venue for shopping and become a continual and ever-growing brochure or information source. When a website offers frequently updated content, articles or activities, it encourages prospects to come back again and again to learn and discover new things. Each visit becomes another opportunity to solidify brand loyalty and encourage a purchase. Like offline shops and services, every business has to attract the walk-in customer.

Attracting customer attention is not the same online as we’ve learned to treat it offline. There are no fuzzy hamburger costumes, strobe lights or blimps that span thousands of miles in reach to bring someone in. Similarly, though attempts have been made to combine service and product providers into a mall or industrial complex styled medium, websites largely stand-alone out there. To draw attention into a website, online marketing includes banner advertisements, emails, shopping portals and traditional direct marketing contact such as telemarketing, catalogs and mailers. What could be better in reaching an online customer than using a direct link?

Link Building Insider Tips: A Six-Step Link Building Strategic Plan

May 14, 2009 by admin

This Blog post is brought to you by:

Link building is an ever changing strategy in the online world. The old standbys like press releases, Adwords, and web directory submissions, although work to some extent, do not provide the outcome they did at one time. Link building is one tried and true strategy that still provides an impact for search engine optimization (SEO). Following is a six-step strategic plan which will assist you in implementing an  effective link building program.

1. Submit to General Directories. Website site submission to directories will assist the web owner to grab hold of his or her first links. This is usually the quickest manner in which the search engines find you and file your site in their listings. An insider tip is to submit your site under several categories. Several of the big directories are paid services, but the payback is huge. If you do business online, you can be guaranteed that the market leaders in your industry use the paid directories. It is best to first check to see if the top websites in your field have good keywords that show up on the search engine result pages (SERPs). You will also see if they have links in the directories. If they do not have a presence, it is possibly a good move for you to make.

2. Other Directories. Most industries with a presence online have niche directories. These also may be a good move for your website to be submitted to. The niche directories most times allow anchor text in the submissions. Because most times people overlook niche directories, this may be your way to get ahead.

3. Social Networking Sites. If you ever want to get ahead online today, you must have a strong presence on all of major social media sites. The most important part of social media sites is the profile you build for yourself. Your profile is how people will find you and be attracted to you, your website and ultimately, your products. Social media sites do receive much attraction form the search engines, but that’s OK.  This is a lesson in building community, a following, and to have others link to you. In a very short time, you can attract followers in the hundreds if not thousands.

4. Linking to The Big Dogs. Write out a list of your keywords and then run Google searches on each. Make a list of the top 50 to 100 websites that come up that you would like to link to. All of the websites on the top of any Google rank page will have the highest Google page rankings. A couple methods to use is by entering their website address into your site’s trackbacks. This will notify the site that you are linking to them. This is a do unto others type of a thing. Because you are linking to them, if you have a good website, they are more inclined to link back. You will also ride the wave of their high page rank. next, and probably the easiest, is to research their websites for a reciprocal link tab on the site. This would allow you to enter your website address onto their site and in return you add theirs to your site.

5. Become a Blogger. Do you have a blog? If not, why? Google and the other search engines love blogs because they are jammed packed with content. After you have 10 or so posts, submit your blog to the top blog directories. When you do this, make sure you enter your blog address or its sub-domain. If you don’t nothing will link to you. Whenever you make a blog entry, email your list notifying them of it and paste in the blog post sub-domain. Also, make entries in all of your social media sites too. The easiest way to do this is to use OnlyWire or Ping.fm which submit the blog page to 25 to 40 or so media sites at the same time.

6. Article Submissions. Article marketing is by far the easiest and sometimes the quickest way to build links, traffic and credibility at the same time. Much like this article, you must provide content in your article that is specialized  and strategies that are need to know information for your readers. Many ezine editors go to the article directories, such as ezinearticles.com for blog and website content. Every time one of your articles gets picked up, you will receive at least one link back. Using  software like Article Submitter will assist you in working smarter not harder by submitting one article to over 300 directories at the same time.

So, here you have it, a quick and easy to implement strategic plan for link building. Take one at a time and hit it hard. Some will take longer than others, but in the long run, it will pay off in an avalanche of links.

Linkbaiting for Traffic

May 11, 2009 by admin

In this posting, I am going to touch on Linkbaiting blog postings to attract visitors to your site, links from high traffic blogs and web sites, and to gain online credibility.

So, what is Linkbaiting? Have you ever noticed with offline business marketing companies will bring in PR companies to attract a wider notoriety in their given market? Who do a lot of companies use in these marketing campaigns? Most times a trusted celebrity or their voice in the advertisement. This lends positive credibility through making it appear  that the celebrity trusts the product and company behind it.

In the online world, we call this Linkbaiting and can do this with blog posting and web site content. This link-friendly content is meant to attract connections with other bloggers, social networking sites, aggregators, and news agencies.

A linkbait can be an article, blog posting, photo, list, or anything that can hold a URL link back to a high traffic site. the key to this is that you want to make your piece controversial in some form to provide a viral piece that people will pass along and want to link to. For the most part, linkbait material holds fast to the following guidelines:

  • Hones in on high traffic blogs or web site portals such as Digg, Fark, Yahoo! Boing Boing)
  • Must be viral- and link-worthy in that it creates compelling discussion, unique information, or is so good that people want to pass it along)
  • Allows for easy linkability, comment on, blog, excerpt or share capability
  • Lastly, is timely with content important today

So, how does this work? If you have developed a good linkbait piece that others will want to link to and share with others, the following is what occurs:

1.   You post your linkbait content, and submit it with sites such as Digg, del.icio.us, Reddit.

2.   When other sites administrators read your content which is linked to the higher traffic sites, they in turn will link to your content and in turn your blog or web site. This will include RSS aggregators. This is when the wild fire catches steam.

3.   If your content is so newsworthy and useful by a number of people, it may enjoy a constant updating of links even after the initial published information has dies down a bit. this will keep readers coming back to your site.

4.   If your linkbait piece is good enough to garner the attraction of link popularity, this will not go unnoticed by the major search engines - and thus will boost your rankings.

Success Tips

Identify High Traffic Sites

First you must identify those portals you wish to link back to you. Who are the top online personalities in your field? Which social networking and marketing sites are best suited for your piece?

Write What Your  Audience Wants

Don’t just post for the sake of obtaining trackbacks because it won’t happen. Write with your readers in mind. What is the compelling topic of the day? What is everyone else writing about? Check out Google Alerts and sign up to receive daily email listings of what is being published online under the key words you want to write about. not only does this tell you what the hot topics are, but also, who is writing about it.

Write Content That Is Effective

Locate the topics that are so intriguing that no one is writing about them. That may be because the top people don’t even fully understand it.

Proper Formatting

Ensure that your content is written as close to perfection as possible. Top sites will not want to link to content that is not professionally delivered and appears to come from an expert. Does it read like something a top news agency would want to write about?

Online Credibility

Linkbait is hard to catch fire if you do not have an online following or if you are new to the online world. If someone Googles you, will there be plenty of good information about you they will see? this is another area you will need to build up by submitting articles to directories such as ezinearticles.com and affsphere.com. Post to high profile blogs and sites also. This will attract links to your site or blog.

Grab Them Where It Counts

Your headlines and descriptions that are submitted to social networking sites, blogs. and search engines are vital links to this project. Think about what makes you read an email from someone you do not know, or a search result. It is the compelling words in the title and description that will grab the users attention. These must also contain your keywords that some sites search for and receive daily Google Alert emails on. for examples of how to write great headlines, here and here.

Try, Try, and Try Again!

Like anything, linkbaiting takes practice. You will more than likely have to run through this several times before you get good at it. Keep in mind that you do not want to burn those bridges you are trying to create in the process. Do not constantly barrage bloggers with your link request. You will eventually catch on as to how effective your writing can be.
